The Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) is a federal, anti-poverty block grant which funds the operation of a state-administered network of local agencies. Middle Kentucky provides services through a Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) funding to children, adults, elderly and all persons with disabilities whose incomes are typically at or below 150% of the current Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.  For the 2023 fiscal year the poverty level is at 200% of poverty.  CSBG provides funds for direct services and programs that indirectly and directly address the needs of low-income, elderly, disabled and disadvantaged that are not being met by other programs. CSBG goals and objectives are developed by direct input from the low-income population.
